Different Facebook status types

Some people may not accept it, but folk put a huge amount of their time and energy into their Facebook status update messages. I’m not quite sure if Facebook is the new Twitter, or if Twitter was the old Facebook …but whatever is true, it seems that if someone can not write a funny Facebook status on their homepage, then they don’t bother writing anything whatsoever.

But amusing update messages are not the sole type of status update. In my time on Facebook I have encountered various breeds and breeds of message rise and fall – and now that there is no requirement for including your own name in the Facebook status message – there is much more flexibility regarding what genre of message you can write in your Facebook updates.

So let’s look at 5 different genres of Facebook update – which one do you usually use?

Cool Facebook status

Now becoming more and more popular, the ‘cool’ Facebook message is one which uses lots of symbols or characters which you can uncover by entering secret key combinations on your number pad or keyboard. When regular people see such Facebook updates they say ‘omg…sweet…how can I do that?’ and then they forget all about it and go back to work…

The funny status

Ever since Facebook took away the requirement to have your own first name in status updates, more and more jokes and gags have started to be seen within the home page messages. They range from the rude, to the crude, to the hilarious.

The status of the philosopher

Facebook is hugely popular with College and University students throughout the globe, and if there is one thing that people who study like (except for getting wildly drunk and trying prescription drugs) it is assuming the role of great thinkers. What better way to make people think your brain is capable of unique thoughts than by quoting someone who’s been dead for 300 years? My point precisely.

The sacrastic Facebook update

Because of the limited space within the Facebook quotes area, funny puns or phrases have become increasingly widely used. Brief, accurate and can make people laugh!

The romantic Facebook status

As Facebook becomes increasingly a device used for worldwide communication and keeping people in touch, more and more users are utilising it to communicate with family and friends around the world. No chat tool would be the same without soppy, heartfelt status updates from partners who are longing for each other from a distance of 10000 miles…
